Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor and assess patient health to ensure optimal care.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, emotional, and psychological evaluations.
- Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring and Documentation: Regularly monitor patient conditions and document changes, progress, and responses to treatments in electronic health records.
- Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate by communicating effectively with patients and their families, addressing concerns, and ensuring informed decision-making.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
- Education: Educate patients and families on health management, treatment plans, and preventive measures to promote overall well-being.
- Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant healthcare environment.
- Emergency Response: Provide immediate care and support in emergency situations, including implementing appropriate interventions and notifying necessary personnel.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
- Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced certifications (such as ACLS or PALS) may be required based on specific job functions.
